Microsoft Adventurously Launches Game Titles
In addition to more traditional marketing channels, the initiative was taken to launch certain game titles in a style and medium which added more action, personality and storytelling to a brand seeking an infusion of fun in a highly competitive marketplace growing accustomed to creative delivery.
The result was a highly successful campaign targeting audiences through the national newspapers “funny pages”. Appearing as a traditional comic strip, a recognized comic book artist was commissioned to illustrate a series of mini adventures, featuring a hero whom enjoyed the escape of these realistic titles and some of the hardware designed to support their gameplay.
